2 Years Sober: Why It's About More Than Just Drinking

Today, I'm 2 years sober. 👀

Two years during which frustration quickly turned into satisfaction:
• No more blurry mornings
• No more booze breath
• No more "honey, can you drive?"
• No more HANGOVERS

Instead, I got my energy back to work out in the morning, the pleasure of just enjoying time outdoors without turning it into a booze moment, and the general feeling of doing more things in the same 24 hours.

I don't know if I had a drinking problem. And I don't think it really matters. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You don't need to be an alcoholic to have a drinking problem.
You don't need to have a drinking problem to want what's best for you and your health, both mental and physical.

To all those who are considering reducing or stopping: you can do it! 👊

Over the last 2 years I've also seen things change that make it easier:
→ Bigger and bigger selection of N/A beers, and they are getting really good
→ Company policies getting stricter about alcohol during lunchtime and afterwork activities

There is still this social pressure that pushes you to justify your choice on every occasion. It's overwhelming, especially in the beginning.

This too shall pass! 🫶

End of the year it will be 1 year sober for me 🤩🙏. Still spending time to justify myself in social gathering but I’m starting to manage it more easily 😉
