Day 1 of My First PI Planning at Mercedes-Benz Maastricht

Today is Day 1 of PI Planning at Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center Maastricht NV. My first one with them. Which makes me remembers my very first one overall, 7 years ago at Telenet group.

We called it Big Room Planning but what’s in a name, after all? 🤷🏻‍♂️

The main thing I remember is that I didn’t have a clue about what was going on:

- People running around to ask for handshakes
- Walls filled with red rope and sticky notes
- People dressed with football jerseys, cycling equipment or swimming trunks because the dress code was “dress like you wouldn’t be working today”

Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center Maastricht NV has been working in SAFe (impressively by the book) for more than 7 years now, which makes this PI Planning the 31st one, which means a 30th opportunity to learn from experience and using empiricism to improve it.
