Ditch Boring Presentations, Make Them Interactive

Stop with 1-way communications! ✋

Today our newly created team presents their scope and way of working to a group of potential internal customers.

The usual way to do it is a few slides about the history of the team, what we've achieved, what we have in our Backlog etc. The most personal slide would be a picture of the team and the most interactive one would be the last one, asking "Any questions?"

Feels familiar? 😅

If so, you know how it goes : people enter passive mode, lose focus after 3 minutes and start multitasking, actively or at least mentally. 😴

The thing is : Interactivity is not only useful when you need people to provide insights and feedback - you can also use to create engagement and participation. 💡

There are multiple ways to do it. Today, I'll go for a quiz - those who I've been working with can testify I'm a big fan of Kahoot! - mixing content-related questions and fun ones… because fun is not only for the check-ins and informal parts. Blending fun parts in the serious stuff makes it more relevant, easy to process and costs less energy to focus ✨

Gamification has proven its value in adding pleasantness in what usually isn't and boosts people's engagement... so integrating it in our daily work is an added value for both the facilitators and the participants! 💥
