Do Funny Hats & Energizers Really Help Agile Adoption?
Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches :
Are the funny hats and the energizers with people dancing on tables really helping? 🎪
I'm not making a statement here - it's a honest question. As SM's and AC's, the funny stuff is often a part of our package. But...
* Have we have ever seen this fun part clearly stated in a job description?
* Are we making sure that our approaches are in line with the company culture in its current form, or at compatible?
And more importantly 👇
* What makes us think that it's... really helping?
* Do we have any kind of data or metrics, proving that?
By having this position, we can take for granted that everything is allowed - "we're Agile Coaches, after all, right?" 😎
But is it also possible that in serious corporate environments, some of our approaches are actually harming the trust from the leadership and therefore harming the adoption of the practices that we're trying to encourage? 💁♂️
Happy to hear any thoughts from anyone, undepending on your role and experience - if you've ever seen anything about Agile Coaches (even without knowing exactly what they're doing), I'm interested in your perception 😊
