Drive: understanding what truly motivates us

I wrote yesterday about the similarities between the Ikigai concept and the 3 Elements of Intrinsic Motivation by Daniel Pink in his best-selling book Drive.

This was obviously not the only valuable thing to get out of this book. The combination of past studies and experiments’ highlights with the layer of analysis added by Daniel Pink makes it a wide angle observation on what really motivates us, why some people behave so differently to similar situations and how to put ourselves and the people in our organization in the right mindset. It even made me understand better my own reactions to some events in my career in the past few years.

Definitely an eye-opener that I would advise to litterally everyone to understand better their own professional (past and future) decision-making processes and the ones of their team members and colleagues.
