From Digital Perfection to Ink-Stained Freedom
The 1 thing that makes my post-bikablo training of 2 weeks ago exciting (and also challenging)👇
Is the fact that in my daily work I’m mostly doing these things digitally : we’re in 2024, and hybrid sessions are 90% of our interactions.
The biggest challenge for me is to accept the mistakes. Digitally, it’s too easy to just cancel an action if the line is not 100% how you wanted it, or to delete a few layers if you simply changed your mind in the process. On paper, once your ink is on the paper… deal with it. 🤷🏻♂️
As with everything that got digitalized in the last 30 years (music, to just name one), we traded off some uniqueness and charm to hyper convenience and accessibility.
Combining the best of both worlds is - as often - the way to go for me. Like for example spending a few €€€ on the Bikablo / Neuland GmbH & Co. KG set of markers on Procreate 😅
In the video, a timelapse representation our Agile Chapter’s bi-weekly Impact Day - my goal is to be able to do proper live visual recording by the end of this year. Practice makes better! 📈

Looks great!
I agree that combining the best of both worlds is the way to go. Digital is not better than analogue per se. Even in hybrid or pure online settings, an analogue visual can support to bring back the human touch and works just as well.
I think it is valuable to have it as part of the toolset as one becomes more versatile.

Hello Erik, what's your setup to draw digitally ? As much as I love my Neulands, I think I should also invest some time and money on digital tools for visual facilitation.
Any tips ? :)
