Going Beyond Metrics: Real Customer Involvement in Development

Dear Agile and Product people,

Looking for inspiration here ✨ 💡 We always talk about being customer-centric, implementing complete feedback loops, getting constant feedback from the end-user etc.

Concretely, what are your best practices in terms of getting the customer involved in what we're developing ? I'm thinking : getting feedback, observing customer behavior, testing prototypes etc. with REAL end-users being customers (not clients). "Passive" number-specific measures like NPS, new customers buying vs customers leaving etc. are useful until some extent, and I want to go further than this. 🚀

Open to any inspiring and crazy idea and return of experience 🙏

I am constantly posting half baked ideas on social media. I get told not to... To protect IP and stop the risk of "looking bad" however, it's allowed us to massively pivot closer and closer to what real customers want.

You should talk with some people of the BASE Tribe. They've done certain initiatives in the past to get that feedback. Simple stuff as smileys at the bottom of email communications, but also group conversations, calls with customers etc. If you need names, send me a DM :)
