Ikigai and intrinsic motivation: why settle for just a paycheck?
There are obvious similarities between the japanese Ikigai concept and the 3 Elements Intrinsic Motivation as described by Daniel Pink in Drive.
And it’s very interesting to realize that despite the decades and cultural context separating them, the conclusions are overlapping and the nuances are completing each other.
So if we agree that you can only feel great by doing something that really matters for you and that this feeling in the right context will make you improve your skills… what are so many people still doing jobs they don’t really like, convinced that the paycheck alone will make them happy ? 🧐

Exactly the first step to an Agile business plan. First balance. Table 6 blocks. left 3 and 3 on the other side.
Think 1 year ahead. Left past year and right next year.
Much further becomes more and more unpredictable or obsolete. So detailed stuff in 2 years.. mweh keywords maybe. A pbi pr or smt.
1. Then you look at your finances, last year.and right side. How to improve the next one.
2. what do I need to achieve my life goals? That I already know ish. Same principle.
3.And my social, private life and family, whatever same principles.
And time left to do what I want to do. Maybe handy!
And how much money do I actually need???? I don't need sportcars or mansions etc less expensive lifestyle.
And more money mo problems!
1. Has an action.
I came to know that to do better in the future I want to be fit and strong. It's good for body and mind.
Making it better next year. wip
So winning or not I'm following this through.
Make sense?

I love this! The great thing about deep concepts is that they're actually to be found in different forms across different philosophies, fields of work and even religions. Here's one view on this from a buddhist perspective:
💬 In Buddhist thinking, motivation is a matter of desire, more specifically the desire to act accompanied with a sense of purpose. Say, in the case of being more compassionate, it’s by making emotional connection with compassion and its objectives that we arouse in ourselves the desire to act. And it’s through seeing the benefits that we acquire a sense of purpose in being more compassionate. 💬
