Pecha Kucha: Mastering the Art of Concise Presentations
Ever tried (or heard of) Pecha Kucha?
This presentation format is very simple :
- 20 slides (ooooh it’s a lot)
- 20 seconds for each slide (ooooh it’s not a lot)
This structure emerged in Japan in Pecha Kucha nights, where people came and presented a topic of their choice using these constraints.
Usually, the slides only showed one keyword or one picture… because what else can you show if you only have 20 seconds, anyway? 😅
Of course it wouldn’t work for ultra complex topics… unless you can simplify them to the max 😊
Give it a try, it’s an interesting experience and gives a surprising and attention- catching twist to your presenting style!🔥

We use the principle for Demo's. What more interesting can you say after 10'? Indeed the limitation creates focus on conveying your message clear and concise. Forces you to reduce and rethink. Keep it simple. Great that there is a Japanese principle we can now refer to 😉

I love giving pecha kucha’s . I have done a couple alone and with others, including my son. The good thing about a PK is you can (and should) rehearse it a lot, yet it never becomes too rehearsed, because it is only 6 minutes
