Presenting The Scrum Master of the Future at Regional Scrum Gathering Brussels
Thank you, Regional Scrum Gathering® Brussels!
Yesterday I had the honor to be on stage with a new talk: The Scrum Master of the Future. Apparently the topic triggered some curiosity, as there were some heated negotiations to let a few more people in after we had already reached the rooms capacity 😅
During this session I shared the 10 keys that have kept me relevant as a Scrum Master to this day. Each one came with a real story behind it, from fixing the team's smallest problem on day one to visualizing your work 💡 Even though it was my first time doing a talk per se (Im a workshop dude usually), I had so much fun doing it and enjoyed the discussions that followed.
However, the talk might not be my biggest takeaway from the event, as I came back home with new tools and perspectives thanks to other great sessions. Special shout-out to the experiential introduction to Deep Democracy by Deborah Nerinckx and the eye-opening session about Gender Bias in AI by Evelien Roos.
What I appreciated even more than this, as cheesy as it may sound, is the people. Meeting online friends and long-time LinkedIn connections for the first time Patty Aluskewicz, Jan Neudecker, hanging out with the usual suspects of Agile conferences and long-time-no-see ex-colleagues and friends Dimitri Bauwens, Matthias Warmenbol, Guillaume Bailly, Timothy Tiesters, Paul Deneyer, Geert Van Aken, Harris Christopoulos, Kasia (Katarzyna) Sikora-Smets, spending time with my 2 favorite Blondies Bernadeta Nikrevičė 🚀 and Diana Klose ☀, my former Elia family Olivier Masset, Diana, Tom Janssens, Evi Plasschaert, Ingrid Christiaens, Artur Margonari 🎤, and making new friends - hey Paige Watson, Alexey Krivitsky, Karen A. Yeates, MBA, CSM, CSPO, Peter Woolley. And many other Ive interacted with, you know who you are 🫶
Whatever the future of Agile conferences looks like, there should always be room for meeting up, exchanging ideas and opinions, and stepping out of our daily work to get inspired and recharged.
Thanks again to Re-Evented and Scrum Alliance for these two amazing days. Love you all ❤️
