Stop Blaming Tools—Match Them to Your Needs

Instead of bashing tools because of how people use them... check how they can serve your specific needs 👇

Miro/Mural = Dynamic and interactive 🔥
PowerPoint = Boring and unidirectional 💤

is a too quick conclusion : I've seen way more boring presentations with these tools than with PowerPoint... or even a PDF shared on screen 😅

For the visual presentation below, I combined visuals created on paper and markers by Diana Klose (and photographed with a phone 😅
hashtag
#diy) with visuals I created on Procreate, all assembled in a PowerPoint slidedeck... because the animations available there add a dynamic vibe that I couldn't have in Miro or Mural (you 2, don't start fighting).

What is the tool that you love but the most people hate? 😀

In the past 10 years, I tried many different tools: Google Slides, Canva, Miro, Mentimeter...
Not to mention flipchart or nothing at all (even more if it's a workshop).

But I still prefer PPT for 1 main reason: the animation feature.

To be able to add or remove an element of a slide by clicking or setting a time for it in an easy way makes the whole difference.

Because I avoid at all costs having a slide where all the elements (image, text, icons) are appearing all at the same time from the beginning.
Why?
No one from the audience is paying attention to you. They are all looking at different parts of the slide.

Erik Collard 🔥 you can never have in a powerpoint
You mis write a word
You give it a nicer touch
Or i mean
nunca puedes tener en un powerpoint
Escribes mal una palabra
Le das un toque más bonito
