The Art of Giving & Receiving Compliments: A Golden Rule

Today is International Compliment day. Giving compliments is something that gives me a lot of humility and joy and always creates a vibe of warmth and energy boost to the person who receives it.

Golden rules :

👉 When you give a compliment, be specific
👉 When you receive a compliment, just take it. A human modest reflex is to justify it and downscale the compliment. Don't. Just take it.

To walk the talk, I would like to highlight a couple of people who either inspired, energized or helped me recently :

Koen De keersmaecker - We started working together at a time when I was really craving for inspirating. From Day 1 you proactively shared your knowledge and your expertise and it was a total gamechanger for me.
Daniel Zerkowitz - You have a natural leader energy. In 2019 there was this intro session to the role of Scrum Master - who knows if I would have jumped in the boat if it wasn’t you on stage, talking about Agile with self-confidence and passion?
Nina Peery - Because Theo is not the only Murista who deserves praises, I appreciate your good vibes and I can now highlight that you have a very good taste in music too! 😄
⭐ Els Van Hecke for your goal-getting frenzy. I use it as an inspiration when I feel like floating between different things - “What would Els do ?”
Tom Janssens For your proactivity in proposing those Telenike sessions and for keeping the good vibes high since we met back then in 2013 or so!
