The golden mile beats the extra mile—and actually energizes you
Since a few years, the best opportunities I had came from doing the "extra mile". But maybe the "extra mile" is a misleading term as it would imply you should just work "more" while staying focused on what your job or mission expects.
Ideally, the "extra mile" should more look like the "golden mile". This is the one that you do based on what is (or feels) right and fits a need while giving you energy (yeah, that also matters). It helps meeting new people and broadening their expectations while diversifying your skills. ↗️
I don't care about my Job Description to be honest - I never did. Because it's only the reflection of what value the team expected I could bring, before I joined. Adapting to the evolving situation of the team while asking for regular feedback is the way to go for me, and it brought me here 💁♂️
