Why Learning Outside Your Company Changes Everything

Once upon a time, working in a company with a lot of other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches gave me the feeling that we had enough inside knowledge. How wrong was I about it, hé ? 😅

Starting to join conferences and interact on LinkedIn opened my eyes about how interesting conversations with people doing a similar job in a different environment can be. So when Tom Janssens came up with the idea of giving the Telenet group Agile community a visit with 4 of his colleagues from Nike, it was an immediate 🆗

They facilitated a fishbowl exercise around their Agile challenges, we retraced together the history of Agile at Telenet including its numerous iterations, and we ended up doing pair exercices to discuss a specific challenge that we had. 💡

And seeing things from a difference perspective, unbiased from our company context, is a very inspiring and interesting experience ! 🧠
