Workshop Prep: Why Dry Runs with Family Beat Assumptions Every Time

Denise and I are getting ready! 🔥

Tomorrow, I’ll be hosting a session at the XP Days Benelux to help Denise (on right on the photo) nailing her first 30 days in her new team 🚀

Before every new workshop, I need to do a dry-run. Because before testing it on real people, everything is just assumptions. Doing this dry-run in a safe environment is crucial, as this is where you can get open feedback and receive it in a constructive way. I couldn’t find a safer environment than my own family 😄 So yesterday evening my wife Caroline Guillemin and my son Damien played the roles of the participants and helped me adjust the final touches on this workshop. Which includes recreating 5 visuals today, so just a few hours before 😂

The direct impact is an increase of the quality of the workshop, and an increase of my own confidence that it’s going to be fun to deliver and interesting to follow. 😍

Tickets to the conference are sold out (good job Re-Evented) but if you’re around, please come and say hi to Denise and myself 😊 Our session is at 4PM, perfect time for an interactive workshop before ending the day! ✨

💡 Dry run are powerful, there ae so many good feedback and new ideas for next conference talks which are coming from these interactions.

🚀 I won't be present but all my positive vibes are going to you!

You HAVE to start your workshop by saying "This workshop is endorsed by Caroline and Damien", and include this photo. They can't not trust you after that 😅 😍
